Croatia

Croatia is a fun place. Some things I have noticed that’s different from California is the water is a lot clearer. There are a lot of fun beaches in Croatia. On Sunday we took a ferry to an island called Brač. You could see to the bottom if you looked in the water. There was a lot of fish under water. At a beach I got an Calippo that was an orange tasting ice pop. We also took a ferry back from Brač.

There was a really nice beach by our apartment in Split. There was lots of fish at the beach. It was fun jumping off the rocks into the water. On Monday, we went to a wall called the Golden Gate. At the Golden Gate I touched a big statue’s toe for good luck, it was a statue of Gregory of Nin. I bought board shorts behind the Golden Gate and surprised dad and Lilia the next day at the beach, they are florescent yellow! There was a new food that I had never tried before and I really liked them, they are called ćevapčići, they were a mix between beef, pork, and lamb. After dinner on Monday we got donuts. This town Split was great!

Our town is called Dubrovnik. We took a bus here. The first day we got there we went to a beach and I forgot my board shorts so I wore underwear. On Friday, we went to three wineries and a beautiful beach that had two caves that I could go in. I named it sea cucumber beach because there was a lot of sea cucumbers. The day after we got there Lilia and I played soccer with some kids. On Thursday we went to the old town. At the old town we went for a swim off the rocks under the big walls.

We’re on an Island called Vis. We had a dock at our apartment in Vis. At a beach we saw guy go spear gun fishing. He caught an octopus and an eel. My favorite restaurant was a pizza place and I liked the salami pizza.

One thing I have noticed that is different in California from Zagreb is there is a lot more graffiti. There was a pretty park near our apartment. When we were walking around town we went to St Mark’s Cathedral. We went out to dinner and I got a really good tuna curry. We went to a market for breakfast on the last day.
