We went to Cowy Castle with Rowena for the forth day in Northern Wales. It was cool because you could walk almost anywhere on your own. We went there early in the morning so almost no one was there. I also really liked that you could walk up a winding staircase to get on top of the turrets. When we were done touring the castle we went up on the walls and then the sky closed and it started sprinkling. We quickly finished the wall walk and then it stopped raining so we ate lunch out by the ocean. It was a pretty cool castle but I think I liked Carew Castle better!

I often reflect on what it must have been like to engage in activities and conversation during those earlier times; your duties, where and what you ate and where rested at days end.
Where did the kids play?
